Just because it’s winter and it’s dark and dreary doesn’t mean that your wardrobe must be all black. Since bright colors have been in this year, they’ve remained in style for the winter. Not only will wearing colors in the winter bring excitement to every outfit you throw on, but it can also boost your mood, unlike dull shades like black and gray.

Hot Pink and Fuchsia
If you spend time browsing fashion blogs or sifting through influencers’ Instagram pages, there’s no doubt you’ve noticed a lot of fuchsias. While it’s an incredibly bold color, no rule says you have to cover yourself in the hue from head to toe.
Like all of these winter colors, a small “pop” of color can be added to an otherwise neutral outfit, or you can dive in and wear a monochrome look. Matching hot pink tailored pants worn with a top of the same color can make a memorable party look. As for shoes, you can keep with the hot pink theme or mix it up with black combat boots or nude heels.
Cobalt Blue
Cobalt or royal blue is seriously having a moment this winter. It pairs perfectly with every neutral shade and can be worn head-to-toe or as a pop of color, like a scarf or pair of shoes. A simple and less intimidating way to start is by finding a cobalt blue knit midi dress that can be elevated with accessories and heels or dressed down with combat boots and a leather jacket.
Dark Brown
It’s official: brown is the new black. Unlike black, brown doesn’t wash you out and makes you look ten times paler than you are. While black is still very much in style, brown is an excellent alternative if you want a little bit of color without having to dress in cobalt or fuchsia. Brown sweaters or sherpa-covered handbags are considered winter staples. Brown midi or maxi dresses are also great transition pieces, as they can be worn in fall and winter.
And if you’re wondering, black and brown can be worn together, even though this was considered a faux pas many years ago when fashion wasn’t quite as flexible and adventurous.
Pastel Pink
Even though it’s still considered a springtime color often worn around Easter, pastel pink dominates the fashion realm this winter. This is a superb option for pink lovers who aren’t quite ready to commit to hot pink, as it’s a little more subdued. As “Barbie Core” garnered some real popularity this year, it’s no surprise that every fashion line started pumping out sweaters, blouses, dresses, mini-skirts, and perfectly pastel pink pants.
Pastel pink works best if you match it with denim, shades of brown, and other neutrals like black and white. For those who consider themselves risk-takers in fashion, consider finding a pastel pink faux fur jacket to toss over all of your chic winter looks. A pastel pink faux fur jacket can be worn with fancy and casual outfits.
